White Wine

Lighter than red wine and full of different flavors, white wine is considered less collectible than the great red wines. Often high in acidity, white wine differs from red wine due to the lack of tannins, the bitter part of the grape skin that gives red wine its color and characteristic taste. In general, white wine is talked about in terms of richness. Also, white wine does not age well, with a few notable exceptions.

The Territory of Feudo Zirtari

Feudo Zirtari’s vineyards lie at an average elevation of 350 metres (1,150 feet) above sea level. The vines extend over 285 hectares (700 acres) and are trained to the Guyot and spurred cordon systems. The soil contains a high proportion of moderately deep, characteristically palecoloured clay with a low pebble content and considerable trace of limestone. The winery is equipped with all the technology required to preserve finished wines with the distinctive territorial typicity imbued by the geography and climate in one of Sicily’s finest wine zones.
